Whales Pile Into PUMP as Token Explodes 46% in a Week.

Crypto whales are making serious moves on PUMP, and the timing is turning heads across the market.

According to on chain data tracked by Lookonchain, two large wallets have scooped up a combined 572.56 million PUMP tokens worth roughly $3.6 million as the token continues its blistering rally. The accumulation is notable not just for its size, but for who's doing the buying.

One whale, going by the handle "netherlol," picked up 383.34 million PUMP tokens valued at approximately $2.4 million. What makes this purchase particularly interesting is that it marks the wallet's first PUMP buy in over a year. Whales don't usually sit on the sidelines for twelve months and then jump back in without a reason and this one clearly saw something worth acting on.

A second wallet, identified as GnZqfY, withdrew 189.22 million PUMP tokens about $1.18 million from the MEXC exchange. While the withdrawal confirms the tokens have moved off the exchange and into private custody, the whale's long term intentions remain unclear. Accumulation doesn't always mean diamond hands; some whales move fast, and this one could just as easily be positioning for a short term play.

Together, the $3.58 million in purchases represents roughly 3% of PUMP's total trading volume, which currently sits around $121.4 million. That's a meaningful chunk of activity for a single day, and it suggests conviction rather than casual speculation.

The whale activity comes on the heels of a dramatic price spike. At the time of writing, PUMP is trading around $0.006426, up 17.5% in the past 24 hours alone, according to CoinGlass. Zoom out, and the picture gets even more impressive: the token has surged roughly 46% over the past week, significantly outpacing the broader crypto market. Over the last 90 days, PUMP has rocketed up about 294%, and it's up more than 235% since the start of 2026. Those gains have pushed its market capitalization to approximately $3 billion.

What's really fueling the fire, though, is the derivatives market. PUMP futures have traded over $1.04 billion in the last 24 hours roughly 8.6 times the spot market's $121.39 million in volume. Open interest, which tracks the total value of outstanding derivatives positions, sits at around $672.28 million. In the past day alone, approximately $3.14 million worth of PUMP positions were liquidated, and about 78% of those liquidations were shorts meaning bearish traders betting against the rally got wiped out as prices climbed.

Of course, volatility cuts both ways. Just a day earlier, on October 3, Lookonchain reported that a sudden PUMP price drop liquidated two large traders holding 707.6 million PUMP tokens worth around $3.61 million. It's a stark reminder that this token can move violently in either direction.

PUMP has clearly become a favorite among notable on chain traders. Machi Big Brother, a well known figure in crypto circles, has reportedly made 10 profitable trades with the token. Most recently, on September 30, Lookonchain noted that Machi closed a PUMP long position and pocketed around $827,000 in profit.

With whales returning, futures volume exploding, and short sellers getting squeezed, PUMP is generating the kind of attention that can fuel further momentum or set the stage for a sharp reversal. Either way, the market is watching closely.
